We See Walls of Green in 2022

When it comes to your walls, are you ready for a change of pace? Or should we say a change of paint? If so, have you considered going green? Several paint companies have and predict shades of green will be the most popular paint colors in 2022. The color is associated with nature, renewal, relaxation and tranquility. Something paint companies believe we are all looking for in these unprecedented times.

Here is a list of paint companies and their selections. See if any of these shades resonate with you.

Glidden
Glidden is bringing back avocado green — not for appliances (perish the thought!) but for walls. Their top pick? Guacamole PPG1121-5. This medium hue pairs well with white subway tile and black accents in your kitchen and bathrooms. The color is soothing, especially combined with light wood tones and a room full of plants.

Behr
For a lighter look, Behr’s color of the year is Breezeway MQ3-21. The color is more of a silvery blue-green reminiscent of the coast. Like Glidden’s Guacamole, Breezeway can be paired with white or black accents. Behr suggests bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas will benefit from the color. Used with cream or taupe, it might turn your study into a calming oasis.

PPG
If you are looking to add color but not overwhelm a room, PPG’s Olive Sprig might do the trick. The gray-green hue is a nice departure from standard neutrals, adding a splash of color without going overboard. In addition to livening up walls, the color could be used to brighten your kitchen or bathroom cabinets.

Dutch Boy
Dutch Boy chose Cypress Green as its color of the year. The muted green is designed to pair with other natural colors such as silvers, light purples, neutral whites and taupe. The colors work particularly well in common areas such as living rooms, family rooms and breakfast nooks.

Valspar
Valspar announced not one but 12 colors of the year. Ranging from green to copper, each color is designed to evoke feelings of warmth, calm and comfort. At the top of the list is Blanched Thyme, an organic green that will enhance bedroom walls. Delighted Moon is a warm yellow shade that promotes optimism, perfect for a nursery. Rooted in nostalgia, Rusted Oak is a shade promising the feeling of being protected.

Sherwin-Williams
Sherwin-Williams is not on the green train but still strives for a calming note. The company’s color of the year is light blue — Aleutian HGSW3355 to be precise. The warm blue-gray is meant to calm and is the foundation of the company’s Softened Refuge collection. Use it in the bedroom for a good night’s sleep or in the kitchen to encourage relaxation after a busy day.
