Additionally, party goers can enjoy photo ops with Santa Claus and a silent art auction featuring the photographic art of Tod LaVergne. Ways to make magic include making direct donations, buying raffle tickets, bidding on art and/or bringing an unwrapped toy for a child.

Cheryl Alexander, co-owner of Bikram Yoga Sugar Land, explains, “Part of our yoga practice at BYSL includes Karma Yoga—the discipline of action or selfless service. Since we bought the studio in May of this year, my partner, Michael Robitaille, and I have committed ourselves and our students to make a difference for charitable organizations in Fort Bend County. Every three months we shift our focus. Last quarter we raised over $1500 for Meals on Wheels at our Party with a Purpose. This quarter we hope to exceed that number for the Rainbow Room.”

About the Fort Bend County Rainbow Room

The Rainbow Room is a resource room stocked with snacks, diapers, school supplies, clothes, toiletries, toys, and other items frequently needed to meet the emergency needs of families in crisis. Their philosophy includes stocking only new items (with the exception of gently used baby beds, car seats and high chairs). Getting new items can have a significant impact on the children in helping them feel cared for and fit in with their peers at school. The Room’s resources are available to Social Service caseworkers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for any of their clients. www.fbrr.org
